Theresa Nettles is originally from Bossier City, Louisiana. She graduated
Cum Laude from University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor's Degree
in Liberal Arts and a minor in Psychology. She did her graduate work at the
University of Texas in Arlington under Dr. Jared Kenworthy, where she received a Master's Degree in
Experimental Psychology. She moved to Atlanta in 2010 and worked as the Lab
Coordinator in the Infant and Child Lab until July 2016. She has stayed on as a research consultant. She has been involved in many
projects in the lab.
She is mainly interested in the formation of stigma in children; more
specifically she is interested in the consequences of friendship with
stigmatized group members on other friendships. She is also a Professor at Chattahoochee Technical College. She teaches Human Development, Introduction to Psychology and Abnormal Psychology.
