We study memory and cognition in nonhuman primates. This work helps define the relationship between human and nonhuman primate memory, and contributes basic neuroscience knowledge needed to develop treatments for diseases affecting memory and cognition in humans.
Our comparative work addresses questions about the evolution of memory and cognition. We enrich our laboratory-based investigations with computer-controlled studies of primates in zoo settings, and automated testing of avian cognition under wild and semi-wild conditions.
